Tulane

O.K. now it's time for Tulane. I think this game is great for the state but the time is not. The game starts at 11am people will still be hung over and it wont be loud. But I don't do the times for ESPN. Now I think that the Tigers will beat The Green Wave pretty bad. They thought that Mississippi State was to much for them. And LSU beat them 45 to big old goose egg in there house. So I think that LSU will have a great game get a lot of people in that need it and that Flynn and Doucet will get some rest.

Nike has introduced a set of limited edition jerseys and other apparel with part of the proceeds from sales earmarked for assisting the youth of New Orleans. Worn by both teams, the uniforms will feature a special pelican emblem designed by Nike. The Pelican emblem is a tribute to the state bird and stylistically resembles the Phoenix, a symbol of the City’s rebirth. The emblem will be one of several new additions to Nike’s LSU and Tulane products, which will be on sale at the game and in select retail locations throughout the US. Proceeds from the sale of this product will go towards Nike’s Let Me Play New Orleans fund to help rebuild New Orleans through Sport.

My score LSU 62

LSU and Middle Tenn. State Game

O.K. Evangeline and I went to the LSU game sat. night. She was great she had to go to the tailgate party with me (I work the tailgate for Coke) and there were no kids there so she was bored out of her mind. But I think she had fun at the game. We got the tickets for Coke so they were good seat. Half way thu the 4th quarter we went down to the seats right behind the LSU bench. She thought that was so cool. Now she did play the Gameboy some during the game but that o.k.

Here are some video I took of the game I think it's pretty cool.

Now it's time for South Carolina. I think that LSU will beat them pretty bad if it rains like they say it is . There run defence is not good at all. There like 92th in the nation in run defence. They don't have much of a passing game. So I think the game will be good for the first qaurter or half way thru the 2nd. Then it will get ugly.

Virginia Tech

O.K. Here comes V-Tech and I think this will be a much better game then last week. I think what they did in Blacksburg was awesome. I hope that LSU does something for them also. V-Tech had a rough start to there game but they came around and won. I think that they will be ready to play Sat. night. But so will LSU and I think that LSU is a much better team then they showed last game . Even though they won 45-0.

I think that Williams will rush for over 100 yrds this game and Hester will have 2 TDs. Matt Flynn will throw for over 200 yrds with 2 TDs and no int. The defence will score 1 time on 3 turnovers.

Score will be
38

17

State

45-0O.K. I was nerves for the first quarter then fine but was then hoping that LSU was just not showing everything they had for V-Tech. I think that Flynn looked really good after the first quarter. Now they get ready for V-Tech.

Dog Fighting

O.K. I'm not one of those people that think that animals are like people. But I do think that they should not be forced into doing something that's not normal. Like dog fighting or cockfighting. that's not right. The people that are out there doing this should go to jail for a long time. Like Mr. Vick this man had it all ( will maybe not all I don't know if he had Christ in his heart I don't think so on lookin at the charges that are on him.) But he had the dream job ,was loved by most people in his town , saved a football team , shoe and drink deals all over and he threw it all away for some thrills of doing something that is just stupid.

Now I listen to a lot of talk radio and I hear a lot of people calling in that say this is a race thing. That its a southern thing that its not that big of deal. I don't think that and here is why. I think he is the biggest name that has been busted on this. So that's why it so big in the news and talk radio. If you read some of the stuff he's charged with you will see it is a big deal. Some of the people that are backing Vick just are using him like his people that rolled on him. So they can get there name on the radio or news. He will be the poster boy for this.

Now I think that Vick could be used by the NFL to show players that leave school early for the money and fame what can happen when you hang with the wrong people. I think they need to make them stay in school longer or set a cap on what a rookies can make there first or second year in the league.

Vancouver,Canada ?

O.K. When I was asked to go on a missions trip to put on a soccer camp I was like alright I'm going to Africa and then I was told it would be Canada. Then when I told my lovely and wonderful wife that I was going on a missions trip she said you better not be going to Africa before me. Then I told her it was Canada she started to make fun and pick at me. And then she said "I thought you said you were going on a missions trip?"

I started to look up stuff on Vancouver and I did not find much on it. So when our team met at the church on sat. July 7 to head to the airport I didn't know what to think.

Our team was as followed : Screen-saver (Kevin J), Chris Angle (Craig B), T-Money (Tony G), Drop it like it hot Wilkerson (Kerry), The Midget Trainer ( Shawn W), Lamar-Lenard (Lamont B), G P S (Trent S), Hope B, Joe-David and Emily W, Shaun and Lynn R, Jason D, and myself.

We flew into Seattle then drove into Vancouver. When we got to the hotel it was 2:30am (Thanks Shaun) and we had to be at the church at 10am. We made it there just a little late, but we made it.

On the way to the church we got are first taste of what we had in store for us. We passed a part of the city they call "Skid Row" and at one of the corners they had a bunch of people doing drugs and one lady was tripping out on something. This street was right down from a police station.

We got with the Pastor of the church we were partnering with for the soccer camp and he took us to where the camp would be held, all of us were like "oh my goodness!" The soccer field that we would be holding the camp on was the same turf stuff that the Saints play on and The B C Lions, The CFL Football team that won Grey Cup last year (our version of the Super Bowl) was right next to the soccer field.

Now we were not sure how many kids were gonna show up to this camp. The pastor said they passed out about 50 or so fliers but had not got any back. But we know that some people will just show up to the camp. Thanks HPC for preparing us for that. We had a little meeting and prayer that night and went to bed.

Monday morning we made it to the site and prayed over the field as we looked for needle's. We were told that there was an exchange house that people could take used needle's and get new ones. We checked the field everyday and never found any on the field. But we did find some by the entrance to the field. That day we had about 10 kids show up so we sent some of the crew out to the neighborhood and get some kids over. They went to parks and the mall and any where they could think of that day we had two more kids show up. After the camp we went back out and hit the neighborhood pool and some more parks and just walked the streets and handed out fliers.

That night we worked the soup kitchen not very far from were we had camp. The people that do it are called Night Shift, they have 30 different church's that help out and they serve food 365 days a year rain or shine. They do it all off donations. Carole ask me the other day what was my favorite thing about the trip and I told them it was when we work the soup kitchen. That night there was about 75 people that we loved on and served. We did the soup kitchen on Thursday night also..

More to come later

O.K. I know it hard to read the schedule but the picture is cool.

So as of today here is the schedule.

1st- game of the season on Aug 30 ESPN Thursday Night Football the Tiger will play at the Mississippi State Bulldogs. I think this is the first time that the Tigers have played on Thursday night. It the opening game for Collage Football. I think this is good for the Tigers every football fan in the world will be watching this game.

2nd- game of the season is the home opener against Virginia Tech On Sept 8th. Now this game should be a good game and I hope that LSU does something for the people of Virginia Tech and I hope and pray that some IDIOT don't say some STUPID thing to one of there fans about what happen there. WOW JAM and Ultimate Fight Challenge

O.K. yesterday I spent all day down at Gus Young Park. For those people that don't know that place it is a part of the worst places in B.R. There's more crime, drugs, & poverty in a 2 mile area around this public park then anywhere else in B.R. I was there with our church & WOW JAM to reach the lost. It was great! They had different booths set up from hair cutting, family photos, bike repairs, food and it was all free! Just a great day. 325 people were saved and today 15 were baptized.

My plan was to leave there and go to the LSU Basketball game, but I had to give my neighbour the other tickets cuz' I didn't leave the WOW Jam until 8:30pm. Instead I went to a friends to watch the UFC on pay-per-view . The UFC fight was to start at 8:30pm, I made it to my friends just before the first fight.

It was 4 guys, we ate pizza and watch people beat the mess out of each other and after the fights they huge and thank each other for kicking there butts. The fighters enter the arena to music, you know, get you ready to fight music. Jeff Wells ask all of us "what song would you come into if you were fighting?" I said "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Metalica. Kerry said "Back in Black" by AC/DC and Jeff said "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kanasas.

What song would you come in too?

The Aint's no more

O.K. I spent all day Saturday thinking of the Saint's game and I'm a Steeler fan. I was just as excited for that game as I was last year for the Super Bowl. The Saints are the best team left in the playoffs. I think that they will go all the way to the Super Bowl.

Now just think what will happen if that does comes true. They didn't even have a home field last year. They have a rookie coach and a new Q.B. that had major shoulder surgery in the off season. Nobody in there right mind would have picked them to even be in the playoffs let alone be in the Super Bowl. The town of New Orleans will go crazy and then Miami will really now what it is to party. Baton Rouge has a lot of New Orleans people living here after the storm and so this town will be crazy also.

I think that the Saints will beat Da' Bears cuz there defence is playing very well right now. The only thing that worries me is that if they don't put Rex on his back quick he could hurt you. But if they do, he will make mistakes and that will be good. I don't think that Bush will be a big factor in the running game but will be in the passing game. I think that Karney will be more involved like in the Dallas game. Brees has been good all year, should be no change in that. And the Duece will run for over 100yrds again.

So my pick is Saints 32 Da Bears 17

O.K. here are a couple of pic from the Sugar Bowl last night. I got to go with some people from the Church and had a great time. But let me tell you what I had to do to get to the game. Tuesday morning I was in Okeechobee, Fl. we were getting ready to go to Carole's brothers house that lives in a town about 1 hr away. We were gonna stay the night and get up really early and hit the road to come home so I could watch the game at a friends house. I get a call from Kerry Wilkerson ( a really good friend that goes to the church) and he had a extra ticket to the game and it was mine if I could get back. I had to talk to Carole about it because this was her part of our vacation. And she said lets drive thu the night, because she is the best wife in the world. So we went to her brothers house to visit and left that night at 11:40 pm and got to B.R. at 11:00 am. I drove most of the way because I could not sleep. I had to meet them at the church at 2:00pm, so I tried to take a power nap didn't happen.
It was well worth it to see LSU beat the Irish.

Merry Christmas

O.K. I know it's been along time again but it's been crazy at the Turner home. We had so many parties we had to go to and a vacation to get ready for.

We are now in Ohio at my dad's house and want it to snow but it has not yet. Now they say it should snow tonight, lets hope. My brother's kids and wives were here this morning and we opened all the gifts it was very nice to see them all but i wish both of my brothers could have been here but that's another story that I'm not getting in to. Just pray for them. We are in that time now where you just wait for all the food to be ready. You know that 2 to 6 hours that seams like days because the house smells so good from the food and you can't go in the kitchen or you will get fused at for sampling a few things.

It been a good trip so far except for the no snow thing. Carole and E even bought snow boots so they can't wait to walk in the snow. I'm sorry E can't wait but those of you who know Carole know what I'm talking about. If it does snow we will have pics on all of the blogs. And Carole will be in the snow making a snow angle. Ha Ha

BCS

O.K. I know its been a long time. But I hope this is worth the wait.

I think the BCS got it right this time. I think that the Ohio State Luckeyes & the Florida Gators are the two best teams that can be in the game. LSU of course is the best team and would beat both of the team in that game but we can't so I will be going for the SEC even though I can't stand the Gators and don't like the Luckeyes even more. I do think the Gators will give Ohio a good game and with the right play calling I think they will pull off the upset. Now Ohio does have a really good football team and one of the best Q.B. in Collage Football.

If you read my blog a few months back you know I said that the winner of the Ohio/Michigan game would play Florida in the Championship Game.

My score for the game is Gators 24 Luckeyes 21
